Purpose of the Job:
Project Leader (Engineer) role requires innovative thought and a wide range of knowledge and skills. At the project inception, it is necessary to be able to understand the requirements and the objectives to drive each project forward and keep its momentum. The potential candidate will engage with various workstream leaders including Facility/maintenance, Assembly manufacturing engineering, IT/IM, Engineering (Development, Sustaining, R&D Lab.), Factory planning, Outbound logistics, Inbound logistics, Procurement (Sourcing), Quality (Change management), Finance, SHE and HR to lead and guide them to establish Integrated Systems and Abatement manufacturing capacities in PC Asan.
Project team will be able to demonstrate competence from their previous experiences to take the lead on complete projects from the start through to handover of the whole completed project tasks to the Product Company/factory. This role will involve extensive liaison with key stakeholders across two Product companies and is based in PC Cheonan Project Team.
Key tasks
- Leading operations projects at a supply chain, manufacturing, and process level with specialists across different departments (engineering – sourcing – manufacturing), manufacturing sites (2 core PC’s, 3 Distributed manufacturing sites and multiple OSM locations), divisions (AVI – VSS) and VT supporting functions (BPI, logistics, IT).
- Support all the key operations milestones in setting up a manufacturing entity towards business process, supply chain, logistics, site development, facilities, assembly line, safety and sustainability.
- Financial project control:
In cooperation with local team create capex/budget proposals with payback calculations for operations projects covering product assembly localization up to establishment of a new factory from green field investment.
Analyze and optimize project OPEX: Optimize footprint vs. outsourcing (use of supplier partners for Tier 1 assemblies, make or buy analysis), Create lowest cost setup towards PK (product cost within full absorption environment) and optimize capital employed vs desired product lead-time (inventory model, vendor managed inventory, supply chain setup)
- Support the change management process to provide a controlled and trained transition towards a manufacturing site with demonstrated capacity and capability on process control, production volume, lead-time, on time delivery, cost (PK and working capital), quality and safety.
- Support project team towards capability (Right skill sets in place, enough team members, clear RACI) and accountability (follow up actions and decisions, managing local department/team leads to focus and prioritize their respective teams)
- Support to set up governance reviews reporting on CAPEX, OPEX, timing, resources, safety, sustainability and change management
Able to summarize and document information, follow up of actions and decisions and communicate clearly to others, especially government officials of Korea Central and Local.
Education level:
Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant majors (Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Science) or qualified by experience.
Relevant previous experience:
At least 5years of experience in Semiconductor's operations in new product introduction, operations, logistics, or program/project management.
Language skills:
Good command of spoken and written English.
Other skills and knowledge:
Strong PC literacy with competency in complex data analysis, project management and product collaboration
Good at computer skills for MS Office, AutoCAD, Access, PowerBI and Presentation skill.
